The change of modes of oscillations is possible at the further increasing of voltage, resulting in less power and higher frequency.

    • Total operation time of the testing is 158 hours, including 131 h with pulse duration of 300 ns at duty factor 2000.

Description of Insight Product Co. magnetrons with a second-emission cathode

Magnetrons of this type has two differences from classic devices. At first, an electron stream interacts with - 1 spatial harmonic of the N/4-1 oscillation mode here. It allows to increase considerably sizes of the resonator system and cathode. The second difference consists of the use of cold second-emission cathode as a basic source of electrons. It allows to take easily power of reverse bombardment. The schematic sectional elevation of such magnetron is shown on Fig. 1

                                     Fig. 1

1 - anode block with the resonator system; 2 - basic cold cathode; 3 - auxiliary thermionic cathode. The use of such chart of construction of magnetron allows to provide longevity and increasing the duty circle.
Magnetron is packaged with Sm-Co magnetic system. Anode and basic cathode of magnetron are supplied by radiators for heat removal. During operation magnetron radiators are cooled from a ventilator disposed from the side of cathode radiator as it is shown on Fig .2.

The high-voltage insulators of cathodes of 35 GHz magnetron are made from a ceramics, and of 95 GHz magnetron are made from a glass.

In a serial production our magnetrons both with the fixed frequency and with frequency tuning (in a range to 10 % from face value) including fast electric tuning of frequency from " impulse to impulse" and fine precision adjustment of the frequency.
